Counseling & Psychotherapy

Accidents, whether minor or devastating, are a traumatic experience that involves loss of control and may result in pain from injuries. The aftermath of an accident isn’t necessarily limited to physical damage and wounds. The effect upon the victim’s mental health can be deep and long-lasting.

Following an accident, your brain can kick into the "fight for flight" state, causing panic attacks, mood swings, depression, and anxiety. Trauma, such as fear of loss of control, can result in lasting damage.

If you've suffered an injury, seeking counseling is not a sign of weakness. Long after your physical injuries have healed, psychological injuries may linger and continue to develop. If you are experiencing mood swings, anxiety, stress, trouble sleeping, or depression, you may want to seek mental health counseling. The sooner you take the steps to work through the troubling emotions and trauma of the accident, the sooner you can understand and cope to get on with a normal life.
