Our son has been receiving care at NeuroHealth Solutions since 2015. He is on his third round of 20 sessions. Chronic Migraines - After living with constant recurring headaches for over three years and consulting with several neurologists as well as neurosurgeons, I had given up on all hope of a normal life again. Abberant Behavior - Prior to seeing Dr. Southland, Blanca and I were at a loss with what to do with our son Xavier. While Xavier is a loving and caring child, his impulsivity and explosive temper resulted in Xavier attending 4 different daycares. We made every attempt to help our son with his behavior but with no success. We met with psychologists and psychiatrists alike and all recommended medications. At our wits end we considered medicating Xavier to help with his behavior and impulsivity despite all the adverse side effects until we discovered NeuroHealth Solutions. In only 3 sessions we noticed a significant difference in his overall behavior but more importantly our sons true self began to surface. Learning Disability & Sports Performance - From a very young age my daughter struggled in school. We’ve tried several different programs to help her. We have tried to get help from the school districts, she’s been working with tutors now for several years. But nothing seemed to work. At times this can get very frustrating not only for my daughter but for us as well. As she is getting older her school tasks are becoming more challenging and we were getting desperate for help. We’re always researching for something new that could help her, because it felt like everything we had tried was not working. One day, we were riding in the car and we heard the commercial for neurohealth and was very skeptical at first and we kept hearing the commercial again and again for about how to two weeks before we decided to look into it. We sat down with Dr. Southland and he explained what NeuroHealth Solutions does and how it can help my daughter. We were still very skeptical but were willing at this point to try anything. My wife and I thought a lot about this and thought maybe we will give it a try. At the time we began looking into the program, school was still in progress but was a few months out from the summer and we thought that since summer was coming up that we would give it a shot when summer starts, so we did. Within the first two weeks of training sessions we began to notice little change in our daughter’s behavior, her communication with us and others and also, in her ability to recall information. We began to get very excited about the changes she was going through and looked forward to what further training sessions would bring. Although, we did this to help her with school and had no way of measuring her scholastic improvements, she is currently participating in sports and we have noticed a dramatic improvement in her ability to recall plays and improved attention to what is going on in practice and in scrimmages. We look forward to seeing her improvements as she begins a new year of school.

Attention Deficits - I came to NeuroHealth Solutions looking for a non–pharmaceutical alternative to help with my son’s Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). I had done quite a bit of research on the benefits of neuro feedback as an alternative to the drugs that are over prescribed for ADD in our society. The first stop on our journey was to a psychologist for an official diagnosis of ADD as I had always felt that my son had a difficult time paying attention and staying on task. His grades through middle school were getting worse as the material was getting more advanced. He went from all A’s in 6th grade to mostly B’s and C’s by 8th grade because he was having a harder time grasping the information in the short periods of time he could pay attention and keep on task. He is an intelligent kid and had the potential to do better in school. I also felt that he shouldn’t have to work so hard to constantly compensate for his inability to focus. As expected, the psychologist confirmed my suspicions through a TOVA test for ADD and brain mapping. He told us that my son would need at least 20 sessions of neuro feedback in his office to bring his brain to a more “normal state”. I was very optimistic and we began his treatment. During this time, the only feedback I received on his treatment was from my son who told me that he thought it was helping. I received no additional information or quantitative data from the Doctor showing any improvement, and if I wanted some he would have to do another brain map for an additional $500. Since I paid up front for the sessions, we continued them, but I began a search for someone that would provide me with regular feedback, was more knowledgeable, and was closer to home. We found that at Neurohealth Solutions with Dr. Southland. He explained the whole process and helped me to understand that the previous sessions my son had undergone only used a 4 channel training protocol which is older technology and can only reach a small part of the brain at a time. Conversely, the sessions he has been receiving at NeuroHealth work on multiple parts of the brain simultaneously. These sessions tend to be longer and are much more comprehensive. Full brain mapping is completed after every five sessions and this information is reviewed with me showing the improvements that have been made with real data to back it up. My son just finished 10 sessions and I am looking forward to receiving Dr. Southland’s analysis of his progress so far. School has recently started and things seem to be going well. So far this year I am seeing him sit at his desk and complete his homework in a reasonable time rather than staring at the walls for hours “thinking” and never getting anything done. We are halfway through his treatment and expect we will continue to see marked improvement.

Learning Diasability & Sports Performance - I came to NeuroHealth Solutions because I had trouble sleeping, studying and concentrating in class. As a scholarship athlete good grades and sports performance are vital to accomplishing my goals. I always struggle to pass my classes so I could remain eligible for athletic competition. After going through Advanced Simulation Therapy sessions, I immediately started seeing results. I slept better and I could actually understand what my professors were teaching me. My grades improved as well as my self-esteem and since things were going so well I began sessions to improve my coordination and cogitive processing speed. Soon I was was performing better on the field and now I am one of the best players on the team. I don't exactly know how Dr. Southland figures out the right training for me but I can tell you it works. I wish everyone on me team could go through AST we'd make the playoffs every year for sure!
